Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center is an awesome aviation museum that kids will love! They will be able to see thousands of aviation and space artifacts and can learn some fun facts about air travel. With two large hangars full of these awesome artifacts, you and your kiddos can spend all day checking everything out. Admission is free and the museum has a ton of different activities going on daily. There is an IMAX theater that you and your children can enjoy, discovery stations, story time, and so much more. If you have a child who is interested in planes and aviation, this is the perfect weekend activity for the family. It will be fun and you both can learn something new!
Frying Pan Farm Park
Frying Pan Farm Park is another fun and unique place to bring your kiddos. This unique park interprets farm life in the 1920s to 1950s. Your children can learn a lot about how people lived in those days and what it was like growing up on a farm. However, this is no ordinary farm. This is a fun-filled farm that includes a ton of activities and events! Your children can pet animals, go on wagon rides, and so much more! If you want to get outside to enjoy some fresh air with your children, this is the perfect place to visit.
Children’s Science Center
The Children’s Science Center is an awesome place to bring children. This is a hands-on museum that allows kiddos to try different projects that are fun and help them learn. The museum is great for kids from the age of seven to 12 but kids of any age will be sure to have a good time. This kid’s museum always has different exhibits and events going on, allowing you to find something that you know your kiddo will truly enjoy! If you have a little scientist in your family, this is a perfect choice for your next weekend event.
Roer’s Zoofari
Zoos are fun and educational for kids, but what is even better is bringing your kids to a zoo where the animals roam free! Roer’s Zoofari is the perfect place to bring your children to allow them to experience animals in the wild. An admission package includes an open-air bus ride that brings you through the free-roaming safari, allows you into the animal feeding and petting area, and spend time with some budgies (which are birds, see you are already learning)! If your child has a love for animals, this is a great activity to do with them on the weekend.
